1. Alexander’s.

Alexander’s is a bar & restaurant in Chester which has live music events multiple times per year. Their main event, The Gathering, is held every summer and attracts hundreds of people.

I have decided to use this location in my documentary because The Gathering is one of the most well known events held in Chester. It is also a yearly event so if I am able to interview someone who helps organise this event, they might be able to tell me more about The Gathering 2015. Many people attend this event every year and because of this, I think that a lot of people will be interested in this location.

2. Chester Christmas Market.

Chester Christmas Market is, this year, located at the Town Hall which has proved to be the most popular place for the market to be held. The stalls in the Christmas Market include things such as Food stalls, Home ware stalls, Jewellery stalls and Fashion stalls. There is something for everyone at Chester Christmas Market.

Below are some news stories I have found on the Chester Chronicle talking about Chester’s Christmas Market and also Christmas in Chester.

‘Christmas in the Garden Quater’ – December 2014

‘Thousands turn out for Chester light switch on’ – November 2014

‘Christmas in Chester to be most magical yet’ – November 2014

‘Local suppliers to play a major role in Chester’s Christmas market’ – November 2014

I have decided to use Chester Christmas Market in my documentary for a few reasons. The first is that the Christmas Market attracts many people from all over the UK & around the world which must show that people are talking about it in such a way that others want to come and look around. Also, the market is here in the time that I am in my production stage of filming and is therefore a perfect opportunity for me and my documentary.

3.  Winter Wonderland.

Chester’s winter Wonderland is in it’s second year now, situated at Chester Racecourse. At Winter Wonderland, there are things for all ages to enjoy such as food stands, fairground rides, reindeer rides and an ice rink. Prices to get into Winter Wonderland can range from £5 – £9.

I have decided to include this location in my documentary because this is a fairly new event to Chester and I would like to hear how event organisers decided on the idea and how they put it together and I think this would be a good feature in my documentary. I also think that I would like to interview a few people at Winter Wonderland and ask them about if they like it or not.

4. Chester Rocks

Chester Rocks is Chester’s main music festival based over three days. Situated on Chester Racecourse, Chester Rocks can attract over 100,000 people per day and this year, cost only £28 for a day ticket.

‘Chester Rocks on Friday Night’ – June 2014

I would like to use this event in my documentary as it is such a big event for Chester to hold and it one of the most famous events we have. Although Chester Rocks isn’t on at the time of production, I would like to feature this event through Library Shots of videos that have been filmed by people at the event and also maybe include interviews found online.
